How did you begin your career in floristry? I have always had a passion for flowers. Both my mother and father were avid gardeners, so I must have inherited the love of flowers and plants from them. I began working part-time at a flower shop in 1986..... in 1989 I became the owner of this very same shop. We have just celebrated our 33rd year in business! |
| What's your favourite part of being a florist? I love the see the joy that beautiful flowers bring to people. Whether we are creating a simple bouquet or a lavish wedding, witnessing the expression of sheer delight on a person's face when they see what we have designed just for them is truly heartwarming. |

If you could only work with one flower for the rest of time, what would it be?

What or who inspires your work? I receive so much of my inspiration from nature. I enjoy the anticipation of the arrival of what the seasons have to offer. The first flowering branches of spring along with tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils cannot help but lift your spirits. The welcome appearance of lilac, peonies, garden roses, sweet pea, and viburnum are the most delicious vanities of the season. Summer arrives with the burst of sunflowers, delphinium, zinnias, hydrangeas, and the many colorful annuals. Autumn provides us with a rich explosion of color. The red dahlias, mums, autumn foliage, berries, and fruited branches, and beautiful lilies all remind us of the bounty of the season. As winter approaches with the first snowflakes, we are ready with beautiful amaryllis, hellebores, paperwhites, evergreens, hollies, and the welcome return of the poinsettia. |

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my most talented team. Their amazing talents and dedicated hard work have led to my many successes. They are so much more than employees.... they have become my family. |
